Gentleman;
My wife and I would like to start camping. We were told that the Ford truck is the way to go, but they could not give us the towing capacity of each make and model. We did pick out a travel trailer and according to the spec. gross wt is 11.000lbs and the net is 8,000lbs.Which truck should we get to get the job done for us.Thanks
You didn't state whether you wanted to buy a new or used truck. If it's used buy an F250/F350 with the factory trailer/camper package and the largest V-8 you can find. A 460 with 3:55 gearing is great for open roads and occasional mountain grades. If you travel in the mountains alot go with the 4:10 gearing instead.
If you buying a new truck get the V-10 in an F250. If you want a diesel I'd step up to an F350 since the diesel is heavy and reduces the load carrying capacity by 700-1000 lbs. Deen
