Flatbed Dimensions?

Flatbed Dimensions?
My 69 f350 has a flatbed on it now, but it is too short and looks like it was designed for towing a 5th wheel trailer. I'm trying to find out what the factory flatbed size was when the truck was new? I'm guessing it to be 8' wide by 9 or 10' long? Any help is appreciated. Also, what kind of bed would have been used back then, Steel frame with wood decking?

Thanks for the information, SAlexander. If you have any pictures of your stakebed, would you please post them? I am curious to see what the bed looked like from the factory. Thanks

Have a look at my gallery. For a couple. Ford put these beds on trucks for years. I have seen pictures of late '40's thru '70s trucks with what appears to be the same bed. Mine has the F O R D in big caps, but the earlier ones had it in the trade mark script.
