I have posted on a couple of other threads and have not recieved much info, though I'd try here.
1997 F250 Heavy Duty, 4x4, 460 gas, RABS (II I think). The abs light came on and diagnosing it, got the code 12. As far as I can see, the 12 means that abs EBCM is having issues. I have a Haynes manual which doesn't even mention the part, nor have I been able to locate one at parts stores. One person wrote that it is located behiind the ashtray on the firewall, I haven't dug into it yet since I can't find a replacement. Does anyone have any leads? I have also searched the web and have found nothing about it. Sure appreciate any help!!
On the `97 models the computer is, I think, behind the glovebox. Unfortunately I only have a list of codes for the earlier system and 12 is a defective computer module but I would not be sure for your system.
If you do need one you could try directfordparts.com for OEM.
Thanks for the reply Lazy K, do you know if this is the computer that controls the engine as well or is this a seperate unit that just controls the ABS? Thanks!
The RABS is a complete stand alone system, the computer that controls it is seperate from the engine one. The RABS and engine do not share any systems.
