The current tires installed by the previous owner are 245/60/15. They are mounted on 8" rims. They appear a little small for the wheel opening (but I can live with that).
Finding this size is really hard. I did find 255/60/15 BF Goodrich Radial T/A for a good price. Would these fit on my current rims?
The speedometer right now is dead on. I would hate to change sizes and then have to get the speedo calibrated.
Get away from the 60 series (low profile) tire if you want it to look taller. Go to a 75 series if you want a taller tire!
245/60/15 = 26.5" tall
255/60/15 = 27" tall
235/75/15 = 29" tall
I always use 235/75r/15 size on my F 100 models, i use to run 700 & 750 15 size back in the bias tire days, and that was a pretty good cross over size. i think you cant beat the radial ride.
