Hey mort2000 welcome to fte. The heads on on a 88 are different if you have the efi. speed density air intake. The angle for the intakes are different from the carb. intakes. This is what I picked up in the big block forum. Havn't tried it myself. can't say on the timing chain I just installed a double roller on mine with no troubles ( it was labeled for an 88. there is lots of great info if you search the big block forum..

Both the intake and exhaust ports are not the same and won't line up.
Post '87 EFI engines already have a "straight up" timing, and it's a roller chain set to boot.

Ford didn't put a carbed 460 in a pickup after the mid '87 model year.
Are you sure it hasn't been swapped already, or is this in a motorhome?

I think it is.
Check the build date on the door jamb sticker.

Yes Justin they will fit.
You should get a aftermarket timing set that allows you to install the crank keyway "straight up"
