It means you're running the black CPS. Looks like you've got the perdel or rotational velocity numbers, not the contribution test, but either way it looks pretty good. You want to see the % change numbers at 0 in a perfect world. Below 5 is considered acceptable.
ICP numbers look fine. My truck will idle lower than that. The numbers while revving the motor won't really tell you much. You need to take it on the road and do a couple of runs at WOT to see what kind of shape your HPOP is in. If the ICP peaks, then starts falling off at WOT, watch and see what number it steadies out at. That's the number that will tell you about your HPOP.

Chris, How can you tell that he's running a black cps ???
Chris, How can you tell that he's running a black cps ???
I'm telepathic
Actually it's a guess on my part based on the low reading on #3 and the 0 reading on #8 (which is unusual no matter what color).
I played around with both CPS, and based on my experience, as well as that of several others, the new CPS give high readings on 3 & 8 and can also trip contribution fault codes. Here's a link to the tests I did. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/7...-cps-test.html
Thanks Chris, butI am running a grey CPS.I have been meaning to change back to the black one,it occaisionally has a little rough idle and satrday it hickuped a couple times.
I was blaming it on the grey CPS
I'd hang on to that gray one Ray. Did you take the readings on a fully warmed up engine? Those numbers seem pretty good. If you try the black one, let us know what the readings are on it. I'd be interested to see the difference.
Kind of makes you wonder if there are good and bad batches of the gray ones. Most people that have checked the readings have seen higher numbers on the gray one. Maybe you got lucky and ended up with a good unit. I may have to talk Barry or Joe into coming out and start swapping colors in different trucks to see if one truck acts any differently with the same CPS. We've all got 02's, so that might make for some interesting observations.
I think it was fully warmed up.It hadn't been driven but had run atleast 45 minutes think oil temp was 179*
I'll try to test some more this week and see what the black CPS does.My puter battery went dead today and had to quit
Would this issue cause a knock at low idle? Mine is showing #3 and #8 at 5-6% with the gray CPS. I have a black one to go in tomorrow night with hopes of the knock going away.

I haven't noticed a knock, but I guess it's possible. Let us know what differences you see with the black one. The more input we have on these issues, the better.
That looks a little more like the gray CPS numbers, except I've seen the #3 up in the 3+ range. The number 8 looks a tad high, so you might want to keep an eye on that.
What kind of hiccups Ray? Think the CPS is going out on you, or just a more noticeable rough idle? I've talked to Jody about his testing on the black vs. gray CPS, but never thought to ask him if there was a difference from one tune to the next.
Do you get the same readings on each tune, of does one seem to do better than the other? It might be worth testing before you switch over to the black one. Generally a reading over 5.0 is considered bad, but I'd wait to see the numbers with a black CPS before buying any injectors. You might also shoot an email to Diane and see what info she can wring out of Jody on this.
The hickup has only happened about 4 times at first I thought I had just hit a bump but it will cut out for a split second the run like a champ maybe another couple days
But today i was going through a parking lot slow and when I came to a stop sign it surged 2 or three times then for a little while it had just a little rough idle
I only took the reading on the 40HP tune, think tomorrow I will try the stock tune then change back to black and try it.
I kinda wish it would do it more offen where I could know when I change if I'm doing any good
Think I also need a more better scan software
When my CPS went out, I couldn't tell if it was a bump in the road or something else going on at the first sign. It slowly got worse to where it reminded me of an intake back fire on an old 1 barrel gasser. When it worked it's way up to a full intake back fire, the CEL came on and I ended up with a new CPS.
I'd take the readings in 80e as well just for comparison purposes. They don't make the black ones any more, so maybe one tune does better than the others with the gray one.
