I replaced the transmission filter in the SD and flushed the dirty fluid out and replaced it. No big surprises. There was probably a table spoon of fine metal fuzz clinging to the magnet in the pan. The fluid was pretty dirty.

If it was red, white and green, it would be unbeatable.

That's no good on the trans Del. Gonna give it a try as-is or go ahead with the new trans?

It hasn't given me any trouble since I tightened the loose bolt under the dash. I'll probably hook up to the camper next weekend and drag it around to see if I have any more problems.

I don't know if the pan had ever been dropped on it. It has 162,000 on the transmission.

I don't know much about transmissions, but I would guess if it was only a tablespoon, with it being the original transmission, that would be about the expected amount. Am I wrong?

Thank would be my thought Curtis. There were not heavier pieces. It was like very fine dust, almost like a oily mud.

i didn't get any pictures taken due to the oily greasy mess it was and the fact that my phone is a touch screen does not make for good pictures but i did slide my trans back and remove the fragments and pieces of the throw-out bearing which finally decided it needed to go out heck its only been rattling and making bad noises for a year and a half....lol.... also found 2 loose bellhousing bolts and a u joint about to fail so while i am at it i might as well tackle those..... and on this throw-out bearing i believe i am gonna add a grease hose instead of relying on just the zerk that comes on it since for some reason it was at just the wrong angle no one out of the 20 some people i had try could actually get it to take grease it was a total PITA so a little for thought on this attempt hopefully it will make me happier.....also i am tired of just doing the one wheel boogie (although block long burnout's are fun) i think im gonna throw my mini-spool back in i miss the donuts she used to do..... maybe that has something to do with some mechanical issues i have been needing to fix!!!! oh well Build, Break, and Remake

question for all you land lovers out there.. I am looking to possibly trade off the tahoe for an expedition, how do I tell if the vehicle has a tow package? I mean, this might be obvious for the average joe, but I always assumed if it had a built in receiver hitch, it had a tow package, is there more to it than that?
