Dana 44 closed Knuckle

I know the best way would be to swap axles, but money wont allow. So i am getting ready to go through the 44 I have, and need to find the seals! Does anyone know of a place to get these from? The main seal i am looking for is the Wiper seal, even working at a parts house it is still almost impossible to find any. any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to FTE

There's two different Dana 44's.

Do you happen to have the Ford or Dana ID number from the tag, or know if it's a 3300 or 3500 lb capacity front axle?

There was no tag on it, but the door jam said 3325 gvw front. So i am guessing its a 3300lb axle.

Good assumption / Why the he!! didn't I think of asking you that that?

2) C9TZ1S175C .. Hub Seal / Available from Ford / (Recent Ford updated part number of C9TZ1S175C replaced C9TZ1175C).

MSRP each: $7.00 / FTEpartsguy.com price each: $5.04.

Dana part number for C9TZ1175C: 56313

Chicago Rawhide part number for C9TZ1175C: 523076.
------------------------------------------------------
2) D4TZ1175A .. Spindle Seal / Available from Ford

MSRP each: $37.98 // FTEpartsguy.com price each: $27.35.

Dana part number: 706207 X

Tell me what city in MT you are in. I'll see if anyone locally has these.

Otherwise: FTE sponsor: FTE Parts Guy = Ed Olson @ PARR FORD in Bremerton WA

Since I listed the Dana & Chicago Rawhide part numbers, a local NAPA or indie autoparts store should be able to get them.

TYPO = MY BAD = It's D4TZ3132A

The prices I listed are correct, and so is the Dana part number: 706207 X

No Ford Dealer in MT has D4TZ3132A.
--------------------------------------
Three Ford dealers in MT have the hub seal: C9TZ1S175C =

ORIGINAL EQUIPTMENT INC. in Billings has FOUR.

JIM TAYLOR MOTORS in Ft. Benton has TWO.

EAGLE COUNTRY FORD in Sidney has TWO.

Your dealer could have looked up the correct spindle seals...after all...he's got the same info I do.

Here's the info in case you need something else: 1974/75 F250 4WD w/a 3300 lb. Capacity Dana 44 Front Driving Axle:

1973/79 Ford Light Truck Parts Catalog / Text / Section 30 / Front Driving Axle Application Charts.

Parts Lists: 30.5C or 30.5E.

These aren't really that difficult to find...as they are still available from Ford.

It's just that no one carries them in your area.

If you have a NAPA store in the area, I would think they would be able to get them. That's why I listed the Dana part numbers and the Chicago Rawhide part number.

These numbers are what autoparts stores go by.

Since your dealer has to order them...why not buy them from FTEpartsguy.com and save a few bucks?

The prices I listed above (Post #5) are the ACTUAL Ford MSRP and FTE member discount prices...what is your local dealer charging you for these parts?

Total MSRP is $89.96 / Discount total is $66.04.

Most dealers today JACK UP the MSRP prices...it can be 10% higher, 50% higher, 100% higher, or...?
