I had a question on the 449SS Mile Marker hubs for our trucks. Do they sit properly in the axle, stick out a bit or are they recessed? Thanx... gonna use that Summit discount code X-Hemi posted and give myself some carefree four wheelin'
Where they sit in the hub, they are shallower than the stock ESOF hubs. And, where the stock ones stick out about 1/4" from the center cap of the wheel, the MM ones are recessed about 1". I was concerned about them being hard to reach, but here in the NW Indiana snow belt, they have performed flawlessly and are real easy to reach and lock.
Go ahead and do it Ken, it really is a good upgrade. Easy too. I did not even have to jack up the truck.
I have the exact same fit as Bob does, in fact that could be a picture of my front wheel. I was wondering if anybody has designed / fabricated a sleeve to insert in the center cap to fill the gap that is created when installing aftermarket hubs? If not, would there be any interest in it?
me too...its really easy to lock them even though they sit a bit further in. since i have aftermarket wheels, i had to take them off to install the new hubs.
I also have the Warn Premium hubs and they fir exactly as the photo of the Mile markers, but perform flawlessly as well, strongly recommend doing this upgrade.
Go for it it is well worth it.....don't forget to cap off the vacuum lines.

Somewhere I saw a set of center caps that were shorter and the hubs were flush, but I still haven't found them.
I think it would be the finishing touch to a good upgrade to dress up that gap. If we could find a shorter center cap, or I have toyed with the idea of fabricating a sleeve on the inside of the existing center cap to fill in the gap. I just have not devoted much time to it. To many other pressing things.
