Speedo Correction
Its been a long time since i've had to worry about it, and on my old fords we used to just change the speedo gear. now that everything is electronic is there a way to correct the speedo after changing rear end gears or going to a larger tire?

yeah it's really simple just get yourself a programmer. I have a superchips and I love it. I picked up good power a little gas mileage and it is really simple to adjust for different gears or tires. Takes about 10 minutes.

pay a dealership about $50-100 for them to reprogram

buy a programmer and do it yourself

in time the tuner will pay for itself when you pick up 1-2 mpg. Plus the feel you get the first time you get on it after you get the tuner makes it totally worth it.

I vote edge 100% it pays it self off in gas money in about 4 months....well at least here in texas it did...high start off price....major money saved down the road!

What confuses me about the speedo is I have a scanguage and it has the correct speed but the speedo is off by 2mph. How can that be?

the gauge is only accurate to so many MPH...for example if it were a 0-100 range, it may only be accurate to within 3 units.


sucks, but a higher accuracy gauge would cost us more money

So I imagine that speedos in police cars are different from the ones for a stock crown victoria? I mean they'd have to be right?

thats the reason they give you like a 10% berth on the speed limits. they have to give you something like 10-15%. well... here anyway
