Squeaky brake pedal

Has anyone noticed a squeak coming from pressing and releasing the brake pedal on your SD? I have a 99 and I can hear a squeak very well if sitting at a light or the truck is turned off.

The dealer said they lubed a bushing, but the squeak is still present.

Any suggestions?

On any vehicle I've ever dealt with that brake pedal or clutch pedal squeaked white lithium grease has always helped. Spray it on the pivot points on pedal under dash. I haven't done it on a SD but I'm assuming it would work like on any other vehicle.

I encountered the same problem last weekend. I sprayed the bushing and grommet with white lithium and so far it's been quiet.

I just noticed this in my 01 excursion. At first I thought it was a brake wear indicator . I then isolated it to the brake pedal rubbing on something . I have yet to investigate further .

Did you get the optional Flintstone Flyer braking system? They didn't come with brake pedals.

The dealer told me that it was more economical and would be a real head turner!
Down side is I am the only one I know with my Orthopedic Dr in my five.
