Go with the stock thermo for sure. And see about getting the upper hose for an early 99, mine is the around the belt style. Napa may have no effing clue though...
Yea, I bought a stock one as well. Im getting ready for ELC changeover. I will be ordering the billet housing though. No way I was paying over 40(with s&h) for that thing regardless of benefits. When I hit the lottery I might! Got my stock one for 11 bucks.
The "benefits" of the 203 stat are highly debated, I did some research and decided against running one. Bob's billet housing is a nice piece to have though.

The only thing with the stat, make sure it has the long tube. There has been a problem with someone buying from a parts that got the short tube stat and had heating problems.

Chase, what made you decide against it other than the price.
and I can get the OEM housing for about $17. The $45 for the billet is not worth it to me.
Mixed reviews on whether it does anything or not, along with the price, swayed me away from the 203 stat. Joey at Terminator Engineering also recommends against it if you run big oil to help keep oil temps down. 2x the cost at very little benefit doesn't make sense to me.

Thanks, Thats enough for me not to spend the extra $$$$.

I read about that on here AFTER I bought mine a few months ago. Anyone know the specs of the long vs. shorties?

Did you have any issues with the NAPA hose?
No sir. Its been on for like 6 months or so. It was the cheapest I could find at the time. Ford wanted 30 bucks for it and I couldnt justify buying it from Ed online. After shipping it wouldve been almost the same price at the dealer! The guy behind the counter gave me the hardest time. For some reason I mentioned I had single alt setup and he said "are you sure you want this? are you sure?". Just give him the part # and pay!
Just to update and post some pics cause we all like pics. The part# that Bill posted for the dual alt is the one, and it comes with new clamps on it. Went with the OEM thermostat and housing. Also put on a new belt since the one on it was the original but still didnt have any cracks and with 138k, she served me well.
