I went out to my F-350 a few days ago and measured the frame at about 33 inches from the outsides of the frame rails. Since this came as a cab and frame model, does anyone know the difference between my frame width and a regualr '94 F-350's frame width? Since I'm quite sure(just guessing) that all the length measurments are the same as a complete F-350, I'm quite sure I can cheaply and easily mount a bed to the frame. My idea is to simply run a few pieces of metal across the frame to take care of the width meausrment problems.
Logan, I think the frame width is the same for all the F350s the only difference I know of is cab to axle measurements. Double check these, measure from the back of the cab to the center of the axle then check any standard pickup and see if it is the same. If it is then the bed should bolt right on. John
LAST EDITED ON 25-Mar-01 AT 11:40 PM (EST)[p]I have ben told by dealers that the frame is too wide, I'm sure the frame is too wide. I read an article about a guy in the same posistion as me, in fact I think the ONLY difference between my truck and the truck in the article was that the truck in the article had a PSD. I'm not sure of that, but I think the year was exactly the same. I can go out an measure from the back of the cab to the center of the axle tomorrow, but I'm quite sure it will be the same as any other F-350 with a long box. So, what I would appreciate would be for someone to measure their F-350's frame width, and tell me if that number is the same as my number.
