I bought a used Eagle cap, what is the proper way to clamp it down? See the picture. Do I place the top jaw of the clamp right on the fiberglass (as shown)? I'm not sure if this is correct. It seems as thought the teeth on the jaw would possibly tear up the fiberglass. http://www.fairlanet.com/images/clamp-cap.JPG
thanks,

thanks,
Mine are setup the opposite Not sure that it matters but the instructions said to put em that way.
That looks like the way the clamps are on mine. The cap was on my truck when I bought it so I'm only assuming they're on correct. Seems like they must go that way though, because if they were opposite, I think the top bracket wouldn't have enough "reach" to get up to the bottomside of the bedrail...?
Not such a great pic but serves the purpose I guess...
Yeah that's the way they go. Just be sure not to clamp it down to tight or you will crack the fiberglass. You also want to make sure you have some good foam tape under the mounting flange or you will all kinds of wanter leaking in.
