1990 Ford Bronco OBD1
i recently did a code test on my 1990 Ford Bronco 4.9L 5 speed tranny. The key on ignition off test gave me code of 67 which issue was AXOD Neutral Pressure Switch closed. What is that and how do i repair it?
my key on engine running code was 42 which is HEGO sensor circuit indicates system rich (Right HEGO)
I assume the engine running code is due to the Neutral pressure switch. Can anyone help me to understand this so i can repair my truck? thanks alot!

Neutral pressure switch would be on the tranny, it indicates to the computer when the vehicle is in drive or neutral.
The HEGO code is unrelated and indicates the motor is running rich. Is gas milage bad? check the fuel pressure and for the presence of gas in the vacuum line attached to the FPR.

ok i have a manual transmission so i guess the 67 code is meaningless. i checked the vacuum line to the FPR and it was dry but open as i blew thru it. the engine went from 17 mpg to 14 mpg and my oil is getting dirty prematurely. this all happened after an exhaust replacement so i blamed that for the issue.
I will have to test my fuel pressure Monday at my friends shop because i don't have a pressure gauge

do you know how i can check on a 67 code somewhere for instance on my tranny? i developed a leak on my tranny which uses atf fluid and have to add a coupla quarts every 5k. i was told the leak which seems to be coming from the top was from a dry rotted rubber that is gone and it is slinging it out. if code 67 is causing me issues with my fuel mileage issues then i'd like to fix it..i bought 5 gallons of atf a few years ago when this happened and was thinking about going to a heavier gear oil when this is gone to maybe slow the usage. appreciate any input!
