I just got back from my hunting camp. It is located in the Upper Penninsula of Michigan and I use a WW2 M29C weasel tracked vehicle to get in and out. The motor was replaced with what I was told was a 1976 ford truck motor. I took down the numbers on the block and I was hopeing I could find out more about this motor. The numbers are:
I dont know the numbers but there were quite a few Weasels in Alaska some years ago. They originally had a Studebaker six engine. Dont know what Transmission.
The little Studebaker six didnt use much fuel, and would start in the winter. I guess it didnt have the power those guys wanted though.
6015 Im guessing is your engine block.
"6000" is Engine parts for ford. IE-a 6565 would be a pushrod.
Ford expressed parts as engineering #s gets kinda funky sometimes.
Hope numberdummy picks up on the thread or try sending some pics. Ford used 3 spd tranys behind every engine at one point or another. You could have a 170,200,250,240, or a 300.
