After much debate on which aftermarket Gauge to install I decided to go with the ScanGaugeII due to price and the fact that you can read 4 gauges at once. The XGauge feature gave me the ability to program vehicle specific gauges such as Trans Fluid Temp, Cylinder Head Temp and Torque into Torque Converter and many more. So all in all I'm am very pleased with the way this worked out. For you guys who have installed this I would like to here any helpful hints on using the ScanGaugeII and for someone who may be thinking of installing one here are some pics on my installation which is very simple. Many thanks to Monsta who has recommended this many times on this site.
I installed the Scan Gauge and like it very much. The gauge does have the ability to read fuel pressure but I guess the vehicle system does not provide that information for the V10 engine. If it does, what have I done wrong?
It can only display 'gauges' that the PCM monitors. For PSD, that means no cyl. head temp, fuel pressure, barometric pressure, coolant temp and a few others I've tried. I still like it, but was bummed it did not read MOST of the things it can read.
I usually monitor intake air temp, volts, % load (cool ) and RPM's. It is nice to check and clear codes while driving. (co-pilot duty of course )
Also, the MPG and gal/hr stuff is waaaay off in both of my trucks??
Anybody played with one more than me on a 7.3 who can tell me what all it can and cannot 'read'?
