I just opened the mail - recall on my wife's 2008 F-450. Injector O-rings may be leaking and letting fuel into the crankcase. They inspect and/or replace O-rings and/or injectors and inspect/clean/replace the charge air cooler since it may now be contaminated.

Her truck is a job 3 build - I was hoping there would be less issues with it.

I think the regen excuse is BS. Stay on them.

I can't imagine that regen has anything to do with fuel contamination in the oil. Any level of fuel in the oil is contamination, no matter what they say. Their either trying blow it off or hope you go somewhere else. My 08 is also a job 3 and haven't had the problem yet, hope I don't. I test oil every change so I will know at the slightest level of contamination.

Has anybody had the injector recall done yet?
I inquired about it yesterday and my dealer informed me that they have to order the parts for the injector replacement recall from FORD before they can do the work. They said that FORD is performing this replacement work on a case by case basis.

Is this a cab off procedure? I've seen some say yes and some say no. I may be getting a little fuel in aswell but not really too excited about having the cab taken off.

Still curious is the injector replacement a cab off repair? I've heard it both ways. I checked my oil today 2000 miles after the last change and it doesn't look like i'm making any oil yet so i'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Sawtooth,

Don't know for sure about the cab removal. However, my dealer told me it would be a half day fix. I do not know how long it takes to remove and replace the cab. Sorry I am not much help but I'm trying. I am still waiting for the parts to come in.

If its just injectors, the cab won't have to come off. If lets say the HPFP had to be replaced, then yes it would have to come off. If the tech is experienced with it, the cab can be off in 1.5-2 hrs.

UGA33 hit it dead on. For injectors only the cab does not have to come off.

that sounds good to me. I just turned 2000 miles and i can't see any extra oil yet. I will take her to 5K before changing it. By then i should notice an increase in oil if the injectors are in fact leaking.
