Lightbulb Not CPS this time....

O.K. I was at walmart on lunch break and when I tried to leave the darn truck wouldn't start. Sounded just like the starter that I had just replaced in Aug 2008. Did I say that this truck has been sidelined because it took a while to get someone to work on it at home in the COLD. Haven't driven it since early Dec 2008. I am irritated to say the least.

I hitched a ride with another co-worker that just happened to be there too. THANK YOU When I got back to work I called the tow service and made arrangements to have it brought the the shop. Did I tell about the battery light on the way to work the day before? Yeah it plays into the story.

So, of course it started fine just off the tow truck. I didn't even care when I heard that because its been doing goofy things this whole time. I pretty much think it is possessed.

It was the end of the day so they kept it over night and put it on the lift/hoist anyhow in the morning. Low and behold main cable to the starter wasnt completely fastened. Tadaa. Just for good measure they checked the batteries and cleaned the posts for me. They were in good working order. Um, it runs A LOT better now. This whole time I was thinking it was toast and it turned out to be very simple. Its nice to be driving it again.

Sometimes you think the worst and wind up over looking the easy things. Been there done that. Woke up freezing at 4 in the morning one January. After pulling apart the oil burner thinking something went south I remembered the nephews were running up and down the stairs into the basement because i was down there working on the bike. Sure enough went halfway up the stairs where the burner switch is and it was off. One of the buggers hit the switch. O well you live you learn. Good luck with the truck.

Later.......................
