MBRP Install Help!

I am trying to remove my stock exhaust from my 03 6.0 PSD. The down pipe is wrapped in a thick tin-foil/heat tape with metal clamps in different random spots. I have cut the down pipe in front of the transmission cross member and can not get the down pipe out!

Do I need to cut the pipe again closer to the engine or do I have to rip the rest of this foil crap off?

Any tips on putting the new down pipe on looks like it is going to be difficult.

I have the 7.3 diesel. I didnt have any foil wrap on mine, but I did have to use a torch to heat the clamp enough so it would break away fron the flange on the turbo. Not sure why its a big problem for you.

my flange came off very easily but can't get the pip out with this wrap all over it.

For safety, you should remove the insulation. I cut the insulation clamps then removed enough insulation so I could cut the OEM down pipe about 4" above the frame. You basically have to cut the down pipe at the first turn after the pipe comes straight down. If you use a saws all, use a fine tooth metal cut blade. A medium or course tooth blade will be ugly and you may get hurt.
