Steeringwheel - will it fit?
Will the steering wheel off of a early 80's Bronco fit a 1978 F150 with automatic trans on the column? (Unfortunately they don't know the exact year.)
Found a nice deal and just want to make sure it will actually fit.
Both my truck and this wheel have cruise control.
Though who knows what is wrong with mine - could be the buttons, could be anything. No clue what was done to this truck before I got it 2 months ago.
Thanks,
Mike...

The 2 spoke steering wheel used with Cruise Control is Cruise Control only.
If the wheel is from a 1978 thru at least 1983 Bronco or F100/350 with Cruise, it should be the same.
The C/C switch is the same 1978/81. After 1981, it is only furnished with the horn pad.
1975/77 F100/350 & Econoline Cruise Control wheels are 1975/77 only.

Just for refference and for the pure restorationist, the 1978-1979 cruise controls switches are not the same as 1980 and up in only one respect.
The 1978 and 1979 does not have a resume button originally.
1980 and later have a resume button.
If you put a 1980 or newer cruise control horn pad in your 1978-1979 the resume button will not work.
Other than these small differences, they will work fine.

Sorry, that's incorrect. There are two possible switches 1980/81.
D8AZ9C888A .. Cruise Control Switch / Use with factory installed Cruise Control / Marked: "OFF/ON" "SET ACCEL- COAST"
Application: 1978/81 F100/350 & Bronco / 1978/79 Econoline.
Application: 1978 LTD/Mercury Marquis / 1978/79 LTD II & Ranchero/Thunderbird/Cougar/Lincoln Town Car & Mark V / 1978/80 Granada/Monarch/Lincoln Versailles.
EOTZ9C888A .. Cruise Control Switch / Use with factory installed Cruise Control / Marked: "OFF/ON RESUME" "SET ACCEL-COAST"
Application: 1980/87 F100/350, Bronco & Econoline.
Ford obsoleted this switch in midyear 1987, replaced it with the combination horn pad and switch assembly.

Are we talking about the horn pad with cruise control switches, or the Dealer add on, Cruise Control switch that attaches to the turn signal lever?
My book makes reference to this number:
E0TZ13A805A Horn Pad with speed Control Woodgrain Finish.
Now I'm confused, which is often.

No, not that one.

Join the club...because...why would Ford offer two different 9C888's in 1980/81?
Dunno.
Maybe you missed it, as I edited.....adding to both switches:
Use with
factory installed Cruise Control.
EOTZ13A805A replaced
EOTZ9C888A.

That's just it, I'm not sure they did. You got to admit it don't make any sence for them to. However I've learned that Ford doesn't always make sence.
I notice that the horn pad switch changes from
D8AZ9C888A 1978-1979 Econoline, to
EOTZ9C888A 1980-1987 Econoline with no crossing over. Interesting.
All my literature shows the
EOTZ13A805A Switch, including the dealer brochure.
So that's one for the weird factor.

Yeah I missed that part.
So I will say this, if the newer horn pad has the
RESUME button, and you put it in your 1978-1979 which originally didn't have a
RESUME button, the resume button will not work. Other than that they are the same and will work fine otherewise.
