Hi all, this is my first real post. TIA for any and all replies. I'm searching for a truck and wonder what kind of repairs would "normally" be required on an '02 with 125000 miles. eg: front/rear bushings ball joints. I know it's a wide open question with lots of "depends on...". Just looking for your experiences to help me see what pitfalls I wouldn't otherwise know about. Thanks.

Reason: more specs
On top of those things, maybe batteries, coolant if it hasn't be changed out. There are always bigger things like the tranny, but that may last another 100k. My truck has 134,000 and I don't expect any big expenses in another 75,000 to 100,000 but that doesn't mean something won't happen.
Shortbox probably didn't tow a lot. I doubt the bed is drilled for a 5th wheel. Airbags probably for a camper?
Above comments are a good bet.
Do yourself a favor. When you find one you like, take it to a reputable shop familiar with these engines and trucks. Pay them for a pre-purchase inspection. $100 well spent. You'll get an idea what you are in for...
He's asking $17000 Cdn, which is about $13200 US. He's done Frt/ Rear Bushings/Ball joints etc. (whatever "etc" means?), and new rubber. I'd have to look at it first. If interested I'd make an offer contingent on having a Ford dealer do an inspection with OBD diagnostics to the engine and transmission.
Price is too high. I'd start out around $12,750 CAD ($10k USD). The new ball joints and such is a good sign that he cared about the rig and took care of it right. Get an OASIS report and CARFAX on it. Also check out this link for more good things to check when buying a used PSD.
