Transfer Case Troubles
I have a '76 F-150 with a C6 tranny and a np203 chain drive transfer case. This case does not have the chain slip problem that usually happens to the 203, but there is a rattle that appears to be coming from it. The sound seems speed relative. Sometimes it does not make the sound at all, other times it is very loud. When idleing to a stop, like a stop sign, i hear the rattle slow, and finaly stop when I stop. Sometimes there is no rattle. It sounds like someone sliding a pipe across prison bars, is the best i can describe it. Does any one know what this could be?
Another question, I am looking at buying a '78 bronco. It has a C6 with a np205 transfer case. I would love to put that np205 in my F-150. I know that the output shaft on the transmission of my '76 will be too short, is there an adapter I can buy to make this swap work? Other Advice or info would be Great as well. Thank you.
