I had been contemplating buying a Vintage Air A/C system for my 56 while I have it torn down, so while I was at the Sacramento Autorama a few weeks ago I picked up their catalog from one of the show vendors. While looking through the catalog I saw that VA now has a product called the "Front Runner" which moves all the accessories to the front of the engine in a nice and tidy arrangement. I decided to do my part to help revitalize the economy (that's what I told the wife anyway) and I bought the system. Here's a pic of the initial trial fit...the water pump was not polished so I dropped it off at the shop and won't be able to complete the install until next Monday. Overall I am very impressed with the quality and I am really happy that I don't have to scrounge around the junkyards any longer looking for pulleys and brackets.
Chuck, that is awesome, I sure wouldn't want to have clean that on a regular basis but they sure look great. I would make sure that I would just add water in the rad and motor after initial hose hook up to verify no leaks before adding antifreeze and chancing that stuff getting on all that pretty billet. Looks could we are looking at the same setup for the 40 we are working on
Yeah, the pics on the website don't do it justice. The forged main plate is really beefy as you can see better in this pic. The plate is 2 inches thick, as can be seen where the alternator mounts. On the other side where the power steering pump mounts the plate is 11/16ths. I can't wait to get the water pump back from the polisher and get it mounted...seems strange that VA would not polish the pump as part of the kit.

Very Nice!
Don't intend to be nosey, but can you approximate how many nickels that cost? Maybe put my stimulus money to work!
CHuck, are those the valve covers you intend to use?
I'm not sure if I will or not. I was thinking that I would strip off the crinkle black and polish them then paint in between the fins orange (the color of the truck). I ordered a set of polished ball-milled covers so I think that that is the way I'm going. I guess I'll just have to see what looks best.
