I see a lot of people taking about getting rid of their mechanical lift pumps and installing electric ones. What are the advantages of the electric over the mechanical?
If you are worried about it being a hazard in a wreck, you can wire in the inertia switch out of any late 80's or 90's efi Ford. Simple switch between your key on wire and a fuel pump relay trigger side. It breaks the connection in sudden impact, but you reset it by pushing a button on the top. I used to put them on hotrods I built for people as kind of a little insurance.

where is it mounted and what does it look like, need to find me some.
I'd actually go with a manual shutoff switch, something the size of what big rigs have for the air brakes - reason I don't want an inertia switch in my truck is that when empty (so good 90% of the time) it rides much like a dump truck, and roads around here are just nasty, so I'd hate to have my engine shut off on me just cause I hit some big pothole at full speed.
