fuel filter drain valve doesn't train

fuel filter drain valve doesn't train

I encountered this when I was doing my fuel filter change. I ended up just sucking the fuel out, but would like to fix this

next time open the valve leave the filter cup on tight ,and have somone turn the key till the pump comes on, that would clear the drain pipe instantly...

Here is how to take the valve apart. Don't forget to get new o-rings. The site that this artical is on is where you can get new o-ring kit for this.

good tip!

what's the service interval on a fuel filter? I've noticed lots of pumps here contain biodisel blends, and I know biodiesel is a solvent

hell, I don't drive my truck that much...I'd do it evey year then!

any ways to check the filter to see if it needs replacement?

if you dont know how long its been in there..change it now..write the date and miles on a piece of tape and stick it in the top corner of your windshield..

i change mine twice a year..spring and fall...miles dont matter..
