i have a 85 f-250 with a big block, 4speed and 4x4 and while driving at certain rpms i get this vibration taht i can feel in the stick ****, clutch peddal and little bit in the steering wheel, u can kinda hear it to but i hardly because the exhaust is loud but i cant figure out what started the vibration, and it doesnt do it in neutral while revving just at about 2krpm to 3k rpm, kinda feels like somethin is out of balance
Possible bad rear u joints... i had the same issue the rear sliding windows would vibrate really loud on the freeway. new rear u joints fixed it. But make sure you take the truck out of 4x4 and let us know if it does that vibration. If it does it in 4x4 only then its something else.
"and it doesnt do it in neutral while revving just at about 2krpm to 3k rpm" I may have not undersood you, if you revv it up in neutral and it does this then ignore this post, its in the flywheel or clutch or clutch fan or something on the engine that moves.
Good luck!!
hadd the same problem.front tire steel belts broke in the tire, couldn't see but tire was wearing unevenly.put my spare on solved problem.just another area to check before you spend alot of hard earned cash on stuff you may not need. good luck

I had that problem too.
Dont forget to check your carrier bearing as well. Two other things you can do.
1. When driving the truck and the vibe starts, if you let off the gas and coast, is the vibe still there?
2. Get a competent friend to help you with this one. Jack up the rear wheels, and chock the front wheels. Have a friend run the truck through the gears to get it to the speed where the vibe occurs. Lay next to the truck and watch the driveshaft. If it looks blurry, it's spinning out of round. If you cant quite tell, get a stick and hold it against the shaft while it's spinning. If the stick bounces against the shaft, then it's spinning out of round.
My mother had a 95 F-150 that developed a vibration from 40-50 mph. It was smooth up until 40 and smoothed back out after 50. I used that 2nd trick to check the DS and it was so blurry at 45 it would give you a headache to watch for to long. All the joints felt tight though. I just replaced them all, along with the carrier bearing and had the shaft balanced. Problem solved.
