With these old dentsides, you usually have to have trim to pull off a 2 tone paint job. I've been looking at some paint colors and am having a hard time choosing what I want to do. For some reason, I am not completely drawn into putting a lot of trim on my truck, but still want the 2 tone....
So, how do you think this would look in metallic dark blue and tan? (With a nice shiny chrome rear bumper of course)....
The dark blue and tan was popular on the 80's trucks and Broncos. I always liked it. You might want to check out some pics of that generation of trucks for some ideas and inspiration.
All the Eddie Bauers ('91 and later Explorers, 1980's and later: F Series, Bronco's, Aerostars, etc etc) feature tan or beige accent paint with whatever other colors were/are available with the particular vehicle.
The older Bauers used Navajo Tan, the newer models use Arizona Beige which is a slightly lighter shade than Navajo Tan.
If I go metallic blue, then I won't have to paint the interior of my truck. The seat is tan, so I just may keep that too.
I was already knocking these colors around, but the question was where/how to put the colors so I wouldn't need trim... but now I have a real good idea of what I am going to do.
For some reason, I think it looks bold as %*&$ to lay pinstripe where the trim would normally go!
