I was just pokin around the local junkyard and found a dash with a radio delete,,i had never seen one with that before and i was just wondering if that is a rare thing,,any ideas
I've seen one or two pop up on eBay before. They weren't very common in the first place, and unfortunately many of the ones that were out there were cut up to put in a radio. If you found one at a yard and it's not too expensive, I'd pick it up. You could resell it on eBay, or it'd just be cool to have anyway.
i found one a few years back when i needed the clear piece inside the bezel. I had never seen one before so i picked it up too. Dont need it but i thought it was neat.
Danggit! :/
It's not a friggin "radio delete bezel"! :/
It's the -real thing-!
The others have been ruined by cutting a hole in 'em for a #$%in squawk box! :/
"just a bunch of excited talk about nothin" comes out of them stinkin radios.
this one at the junkyard is in like pristine condition,,no cuts, no nothin
Cool. :)
Mine has the factory A/C hole, so it's not exactly as plain (and cool!;) as you can get,
just "closer to cool" than most, is all. ;)

ps- this is what the sun does to them out here, check out the chrome... http://www.panix.com/~alvinj/file12/F100Philco.jpg
Mine never quite got in that bad of shape but I steel wooled off the chrome... http://www.panix.com/~alvinj/file12/gearshift.jpg
0000 steel wool and a little bit of 600 sandpaper was used on the stubborn spots.
pps- when you've got an FE you don't need no steen keen radio. ;)

My 79 is a radio delete bezel as well. I bought a Dennis Carpenter bezel to cut this spring to put a radio in and keeping the other oneliek it was meant to be....uncut.
