yea i had my truck tuned for my 35"s @ Ford.. in fact i was surprized the stock software would even allow for tires that large...

made a difference to my shift points, but still cant make up for the lack luster 3:73's im spinning, hahah...

p.s. how has the pitman arm been lately ? is that problem at least sorted ???

sure is nice to hear u found a good dealer to help you out... otherwise im sure u'd be pulling ur hair out after spending so much cash on that nice truck and having so many issues back to back...

I am very happy with my dealership. I am sure I drive them crazy being as detailed as I am with my truck, but they handle it in stride and always have a pleasant demeanor and help me.

I am still not 100% sure on my pitman arm. The body shop that put the lift on actually came out to Ford and took the old nut off and also the lock washer they put on and installed a brand new nut with no lock washer and torqued it down to 450 lb they said. 2008 does not call for a lock washer, but I swear my steering is looser today than it was yesterday. Hoping an alignment in the next couple of days will straighten that out. I hate to keep beating a dead horse on this issue but it seems to me (with my little knowledge) that since the tires were not changed after the lift that the steering should still be tight as it used to be.

Is there something else other than the pitman arm that could be causing loose steering? I have dual stabilizers on it but I THINK that just "masks" the issue.

Wish I lived in Cali or could afford to fly DCSpecial over to fix it!! haaa

I am the MOST ocd person you'll ever meet. I just want my ***** right.

What exactly was it doing? My truck has 22.5s on it and around 40-50 mph it will shake enough to jar your teeth out. Been trying to fix it for a while and wonder if this is the way to go.

The "stuttering / wobbling" I THINK is 100% in the steering. As I would go faster it seems like the front tires are "floating" and thus giving me a "stuttering / wobbling" feeling.

Went back today to the shop and they retorqued EVERY nut and bolt that was touched when the truck was lifted. Overall it is much IMPROVED but it still feels a LITTLE loose while driving.

I don't care what anyone tell me, it was FINE before it was lifted....

I'm sure that there are many FTE members who would like to help you but based on the limited information that you have provided, I think that is a difficult task. All I know is that you put 22.5" wheels on your truck and while driving between 40-50 mph, you experience shutter. Here are a few bits of information that would be helpful...

1. What truck to you have? Example: 2005 F350 Dually 4x4 w/ diesel engine.

2. What did you do to the stock suspension to get those 22.5" wheel underneath the fenders?

3. Were you towing/hauling when you experienced the shutter? If yes, then how much weight?

The more information that you provide the better the response will be from the FTE members.

also did you do any steering stabilizers other than the stock one? I use dual skyjackers on mine.

was just searching through threads and thought his problem sounded similiar. Turns out its not.

Here's the lowdown on mine. 2001 crew cab long bed F350 dually diesel, automatic. The speedo is off but guessing at around 45 mph the rear of the truck feels like it's hopping off the ground. Suspension/chassis is pretty much stock. My buddy put the wheels on when he had the truck and said he added a leaf in the front I believe (the truck sits level). Has bilstein shocks all around which really did not help anything. Have played with tire pressures some to no avail. Was under it today and the driveshaft seemed to have quite a bit of play in the carrier/hanger bearing. Don't haul much heavy stuff in the bed, but it rides much smoother when pulling a 3 car hauler gooseneck with cars on it (2 cars, at about 3300 lbs a piece). Actually rides better with just the trailer itself.

Sometimes doing about 75-80 on the interstate if you come off the gas real quick it will start a violent hop/shake. If you ease back into the throttle it will start to go away. It seems to change in severity depending on the grade of the road (going up or down a hill).

I need to measure the driveshaft angles once it stops raining, I've all but decided thats the culprit.

Any suggestions man?
