OK, I notice a coolant leak on the driveway. It seems to be the water pump. As it is winter in Ontario, ( I don't have a shop), I take it to a local shop to confirm water pump leak and repair cost. Shop confirms water pump needs replaced and gives me a price. 50% markup on parts alone. I pressure wash the pump and surrounding area and no leak since. What gives.
Waiting on 203 t-stat and billit housing before the repair is done. Also adding ELC and bypass filter.
Any ideas why it would just stop leaking. I will err on the side of caution.
When its better out for you, take the belt off and give the fan blades a wiggle....it shouldn't move. If it did, its probably a bearing went out and the pump needs to be replaced.
Also with these pumps, they have a weep hole for when the seals/bearings go, it will leak indicating its time to replace it.
The pump is bad. The seal is failing and at times might not leak. Remember it heats and cools. Change the pump, belts, hoses, thermostat. I just completed mine in the last 3000 miles fortunately I have a shop and a TOPSIDE CREEPER.

+1...I actually just replaced mine and that is what it was doing....the heating and cooling effected when it leaked; however once it was removed the bearing was junk anyway...

Good suggestion! I also replaced my serpentine belt, idler pulley and belt tensioner while I was in there.
Best pump to get is from AIRTEX, Notthern tool, they sell on Ebay, BRAND NEW pump, do not waste your time to install a reman pump, and I would strongly suggest using a thermostat "O" ring on the lower water pump coupler from the begining as it is thicker and will seal better, I installed a new Airtex pump and the lower pipe coupler leaked after only 3 months.
A topside creeper is just that its formed so you are on top of the engine not under it, someone here may have a picture....
Do a search for topside creeper. Don't have a pic but basically you are flat over the engine on a creeper vs kneeling on the radiator with your back bent.
