Electrical/Power locks and mirrors?
Where to start? About a year ago the power mirrors stopped working on my wife's 2001 sport trac and I checked the fuses and switch with no success in getting them going and kind of put it off.
Several months back the drivers side power door lock quit working and she has just been using the key and now it isn't working or unlocking the door. I purchased a new actuator and before removing the old actuator completely I plugged the new one in and it doesn't work either. I checked for power going to the actuator and it shows that it is there with a simple test light. Does anyone know if the door latch assembly and/or the door ajar switch can stop the door actuator from working? Could the mirrors and door lock actuator not working be related or completely absurd to think so?
Hope some one can help point me in the right direction because this is still a good truck but these little things are what has got moma wanting a new vehicle and I ain't wanting to do that.

It sounds like the ground side of the circuit is missing. You found power and provided an alternate ground for your test light. I suggest you take a close look at the wiring loom where it goes between the door and chassis. It passes through a black flex boot there. You need to get the boot off and look for a broken wire - black wires are the grounds. It could be a common ground for the items not working or maybe even more than one wire broken in there. Look them all (not just the blacks) over carefully and even tug on each wire in each direction to make sure it isn't broken just out of sight. This is a common place for wiring issues. Good luck.
