Exactly. That's the real benefit to removing it, especially if running hot tunes.

I had my wife come out and hear the truck after I straight piped it.....mind you I was giddy with joy @ the bada$$ jet plane sound it was emitting.

She said "Oh my god, what did you do to your truck....it sounds broken!"

I just smiled and thought to myself....it must be a guy thing. I thought that was pretty funny.

Soon enough you'll learn to not even bother.
