my mothers '08 chebby had the engine light come on at 2200kms... turned out to be some sort of fuel pressure sensor. simple, warranty fix, but a PIA nontheless... 18ooo on mine now, and other than a small dent near my passenger rear taillight (no idea how it got there, but its getting fixed!!!) there's not a hitch!!
death wobble started on the 05 and up super duties, when they went to the coil springs. The ball joints have been done on my truck 2 or 3 times, once since I owned it, 03 F350 4x4. Other then that I haven't had any issues with the front end.
from what i've read, the death wobble was more a concern with larger than stock tires on the SD's... not trying to make light of the problem, but often times people create their own problems and try and blame the manufacturer for it... (not brand specific there, it happens with everything)
Ive been fortunate enough to not have the death wobble either(Another reason I got lucky with my 03!). I dont know when there was any front end work done on my truck either, but none has been done in the last 120,000 km for sure!
