I wouldn' put a spool in anything you plan to drive.
I don't like lockers unless it is a mud truck or strip only, and even then I don't really like them. I have seen way too many issues with them after they get some use and a few miles on them.
I would get an Auburn limited slip. Its tighter than the Ford traction lock. You can also rebuild your traction lock and add a couple of clutches to the clutch pack. I forgot how many should be added. This will make it tighter. I plan on doing this to mine at some point when the LS is no longer working.

TexasGuy001, I'm glad someone backed me up on the spool being a bad idea. I got a friend that put one it a truck he drove on the street and it ruined the truck in my opinion.
You can add one clutch on each side of the clutch packs. This is what I did when I had my whole rearend rebuilt for my truck. The shop that rebuilt it for me was not willing to do this for me, but they gave it back to me without any gear oil in it, and when I got it home I added a clutch on each side of the restacked clutch packs before putting it in the truck. It is definately tighter now, when driving on ice it likes to go sideways even more than before. My truck is a long bed and I will get a chirp out of it every once in a while going around tight corners, this effect will be more pronounced with the Lightning's shorter wheelbase.
