I have a 2000 F250 and its got about 112k on it. I really wanna get a new clutch but I dont know where to start. Any suggestions on the best affordable clutch? I want it to be a lil more heavy duty for all the wheelin I do. Thanks
Nick
Had the truck for a year and do a bit of wheelin and I notice when the cluth catches there is a lot of pinging and kinda rattling noises. Just the other day I had to pull a couple of trucks out and you can just smell the clutch. IDK when its gonna give but I'm just pricing right now. It doesnt have the snap it used to so thats diff and plus I'd want something more heavy duty anyways
The noise might be the springs in the clutch disc itself.
If you're in there, just change the whole darn thing.
Somewhere, I thought I read the V10 uses the same clutch as the diesel, which has more torque output, which means the stock clutch is quite good for the V10.
I just checked out FTE/PARTS-GUY's website (y2kford.com) and they show the same clutch pressure plate and disc for 1999 through 2004, and through 2007.
Stylintrucks.com, autopartswarehouse.com, I think also the autoanything site too.Havent been lookin as hard cuz of work but yeah it makes a lot of noise when the clutch grabs.
I have an un-used discount code for them too that you can use. 14330011229715 , just enter that in the "How did you hear about us" field, and it should take 5% off the price of the order.
