tbc brake control

I have a 08 f250 that I can't get my trailer brakes to work properly. I have the factory tbc in the truck. When I set gain on 10 I can get them to lock up on gravel by slamming on the brakes. When I manually slide brake control, they will lock up the trailer. Ford says it's in the trailer. I don't think so. On the instrument cluster, when trailer connected it reads tbc gain=0.0, output= I think it is something in the truck

message center on mine will read the same. My TBC works correctly so that reading is not the issue.

Best way to set the gain. Dry pavement, speed of about 30 mph. Using the slide on the TBS itself to activate and stop the trailer.

You want just enough gain to stop the trailer without locking the tires up. Remember when doing this, do not use the truck brakes.

When you have it set, then go for the test drive and use the truck brakes, say at a stop light and see how it feels.

That is how I do it.
