the body on my panel was shipped out of the factory in primer(browny red) there was no color stamped on the builders tag....when i purchased this body it had the original dark green sprayed by the dealer or whoever.... bumpers & all... but they removed nothing they masked it all.
including the real simple to remove stuff like emblems & lights , when i removed them there was primer underneath, the interior was also never painted so the dash , inner doors & interior walls were all in primer browny red . now it's orange inside & out.
Does anyone have pictures of a truck painted the vermilion color? I always find it better to really see what a color looks like on a vehicle then just a sample.
I'm not sure I'm going to agree withthe guys on the orange red description. That color is an intense red but a little darker - kind of like blood. At least the paint chip I have in my Salemans handbook is a little more RED with a dash of depth.
And a 53:
And here's the color chart from Marks (53lakeside) gallery:
I don't see a whole lot of orange in that - sorry guys!
New at this, still finding my way around. Thanks for the site, that was helpful. For whatever reason i am having a difficult time finding the letter paint code for a 1954 f100 meadow green, even at this site
Thanks for your help
