My truck is primed and ready to be painted but I have a problem. The original color of the truck is ford sea foam green and the painter is saying it's impossible to get that color. I was wondering if can actually find it. Thanks

Here are the various paint codes, he should be able to get it mixed from one of these:
Ford M0187
PPG 41269
Sherwin Williams 5743
Dupont 1564, 246-52788, 93-57288
I was able to find the whole range of stock factory colors available for my '53. Maybe there is something about sea-foam green that I don't know about, but I would ask at another automotive paint store. I think any one place that handles PPG paints should be able to provide it. I did discover that PPG single stage paints were reformulated several years back so that they met current environmental standards with respect to volatile organic compounds, etc. So, the new paint isn't quite as durable as the old stuff. But, I guess that's why someone invented clear-coat.....
Paint codes are nice but what I have found is that many manufacturers/jobbers have no formula by which they can translate the code to a set of mix instructions. TCP is a large paint/supply shop here in town, they do a lot of business on ebay and the internet as well. I have had good luck with them when I take a painted part to them and they colormatch it. Once that is done I then have a mix formula that I can use for future jobs.

I have a local parts store here that mixes paint, they use SW paints and if I give them a SW paint code, the codes are in the computer software and they can mix any of them. Because they use SW paints, they can't always mix Ford or PPG codes. Edith's Palisade green is a pretty rare color and when I gave him the Ford code, he mixed the paint for me within about 10 min.
A lot of NAPA stores mix Martin senor paints, which is actually Sherwin Williams.
Of Course when it came to trying to match the Alpine Blue for Dollie, they didn't have the Ford or PPG code in the software.
