I hope someone may be able to help me out. I'm looking at a 70 styleside, that at one time had a tonneau cover on the bed. The truck and bed are in decent shape. The problem is there are 12-15 snaps down each side of the bed rail and across the tailgate. What is the preferred method to fill the holes left by the snaps? I'm not a stranger to body or paint work, its just been a few years. I hate to pass on a decent workable truck.
Wire feed welder. Fill and grind the holes. If you are going to fill the holes using a wirefeed start the weld at the opposite side of the hole and fill towards you.
