You have a 50-50 chance of getting it right. I was on the wrong side of the odds, so my high beam indicator is on whenever the headlights are on low beam. I swear I checked it with an ohmmeter first, oh well...
Actually I think what everyone is trying to say is "it doesn't matter as long as you have the wire for the high beam indicator hooked to the same terminal as the high beam wire." How do yo know that? Well, you can use two test leads with alligator clips on them to quasi connect your wires (be sure they are insulated and not touching anything ground) then turn on the lights and step on the button. If you put a plug connector on both wires close to the high beam switch, if it's backwards then you can swap them easily.
