I looking for some advise on my frontend.
I have an 89 Bronco Quad shock, it is not lifted at all
and is tearing the front tires up.
I replace everything from one tie rod end to the other
to the other, had the ball joints checked which were OK
but the wheels are angled with the top in making the tires
wear on the insides very badly very quickly.
Any help would be great.
I would guess you springs have saged a bit. (mine Too) It is the chamber adjustment that you need. When they check the ball joints, they probubly checked them for play, not alianment.
Just go to a good alignment shop. They'll be able to straighten it out if it's salvageable, or tell you what parts need replaced and offer to do it if the alignment can't be done on the current parts. You could sit there all day and replace front end parts.
All sounds like god advise,
was also told something about the control arm bushing, but its going to a brother MD
chapter members shop tomorrow so we'll see what shakes out.
Thanks guys
Got the truck look at today and was told the drag link has a lot of slop in it and causing
the tires to move back and forth and them to run on the insides.
YES NO MAYBE
What drag link? There is no such thing in the stock steering setup. You have two inner tie-rods and two outer tie rods. I'm with bigunred on this one... axle pivot bushings are the only other wear points beyond balljoints or trashes wheel bearings (which would make a lot of noise if they were that badly worn) that would allow the kind of camber issue you described in your initial post. The FAQ's list ALL of the wear points/components in the Twin Traction Beam front end setup and where they are located.
