90 shift problems
I have a 1990 f-250 with a 351w, and a auto trans. my initial problem was that the truck will shift into 2nd and 3rd, but when i push accelerator, it will not shift back down. it will cont. to gain speed, but slowly unless on a hill, then it slows. it will reach speeds of 75 on highway. i read the codes and initially they were koeo-26,34, keor 22,34,41,67. i also realized that the accelerator cable was "stretched". i did a quick fix on that for the short term, and started to work on the egr. i found the evp, had no gasket between egr and evp, i think po did on ppurpose as air pump is disconnected. i fixed this, cleared codes and got koeo, 31, and koer, 41,18, 31. i pressed the plug onto the evp as it appeared to be loose, and went for a test drive. i now have no codes. but i still have the no downshift. although, now if i release the accelerator pedal, and press back down to floor it will shift down(it would not do this until i fixed the cable, with wire ties). any ideas would be greatly appreciated. thanks.
