Question for anyone who has a unibody truck. I bought a 62 unibody that had been disassembled already. I was getting ready to install sound deadner on the floor when I realized there are 2 bolt holes that I have no idea what they are for. They are on the passenger side floor, close to where the firewall meets the floor. Square holes made for a carriage bolts. Any idea??
ahhhh...thats right...I forgot those lil puppies...BUT on mine...granted its the later cab, but those bolts run into nutplates that are part of the cab mount...I looked in the illustration book and wasnt able to definitavely see anything regarding the unibody...let alone their cab mounts which surprised me.
Got a few answers already. I may have to take a picture. There are simular holes on the driver side, but they are up on the firewall. You may be right about the reinforced rubber straps. I don't have the front clip back on yet. Does anyone know if those straps are available anywhere? I'll try to put a link to my flickr site for the pictures.
Yep thats what they are. Look at the first pic you'll see a square nut on the firewall. The same nuts go in the square holes. The bolts get rusty, you crank on it, the nut breaks off the panel leaving a square hole.
There arent any replacements ...all these were to begin with was a rectangular piece of tire carcass...sidewall I would e ones Ive seen assume given the thickness of the ones Ive seen.
Thanks everyone. I started going through my stuff that I ordered over the past few years and found a pair that I must have ordered from Carolina Classics.

Since when?
LMC PN41-1527
There even pre-punched for a whopping three bucks each.
I have new ones on my 64 i purchased from LMC in 2005. LMC has a bunch of the small rubber things that go missing or are worn out. These are decent pieces unlike the door seals they sell.

You may have, we've been making them for years. Thanks
Garbz...To answer your question to me in prior post, the answer would be since at least 1966 and I would venture to say back to '61 when this series started rolling off the line...Check out my gallery under misc detail pics...just added 4 pics detailing the strap plus what Ford said in the books regarding these straps.
Rick...Great to see you on here now, Ive heard tons of excellent things about CC and i look forward to doing business with you down the road.
Thanks cs65. I've been checking you guys out for a while and never had a lot of time to do much posting. I'm trying to make an effort to see what's currently going on and who's looking what and anything else to get more into todays builders of the F-100's. I'll be around a while.
