There is a company that will cut the input and output shaft down so you can use the transfer case and retain the speedometer and use a 5spd clutch. As much as I'd like to see someone do this and document everything I't sounds too costly.

Sounds like you would be better off in the end. Ebay and craiglists are also good places to look. I've done 5 t-19 to ZF5 speed swaps and have never paid over $600 including shipping for the tranny.

Wow! I spend waaay too much time already looking on CL and EBAY for these trannies, you must have a magic search button on your computer. I can't ever seem to find them in my area.

If anyone has a ZF5 in the WI/IL/MN area let me know!!! One of these days one will turn up!
