I have aquired a 78 supercab pick up with a dually set up on it. I have a welding bed on it right now, but would rather have a pick up bed on it.
Not sure if there were dually bed pick ups for these body style trucks. Could someone share some knowledge of this with me. Can I find a dually bed for a 78?
Welcome to the web site. There were no factory dually beds for 73-79 style pickups. Dually trucks were only sold as cab\chassis trucks in this time frame. Now, there used to be an aftermarket company that took the 73-87 style Chevy dually fenders and molded them to fit a 73-79 bedside, so that you could fabricate your own. Every once in a while you see some of those. I've seen some other creative fender flare ideas on here.

That was what I thaught. I couldnt recall ever seeing a mid-late 70's dually bed pickup.
I know the body lines wouldnt really match up, but would an 80's bed work?
Or would it be best to find some dually flares for a regular style 78 bed?
Yeah the 80s bed does work, someone on here posted a pick of one somewhere on here, but it didn't have dually fenders on it. I always though of using the fenders of a flareside and modifiying them to fit a styleside bed for the dually fenders. Or if you want to go cheap, just use boat trailer fenders, but i don't know how well it would look, lol.
Dr. Dirt, those fender flares in the second picture look like flareside fender flares. Am I right? That's a cool idea. Do you have any more pics of that truck? I always thought those crewcab\supercab mods were cool. I think I've seen that truck on eBay before. Sorry for going off topic...
yeah, fmc400, that is flareside fenders. and yes, you have seen it on Ebay.
sorry I don't have any more pics of that truck. when I see a pic of a truck (whether I like it or not) I get an exterior pic of it.
did you look at that truck on Ebay? I looked at the ad and it was real impressive. 1979 F350 (can't remember if 4x2 or 4x4), diesel with a spare engine to go with it, converted into Crewcab with Supercab, 5 speed, etc.
I've had that picture for probably 6-8 months. they wanted $9000 for it.
Arrowcraft used to produce them up until 01/08, according to a company spokesperson, they sold their last set at that time that were designed for our trucks, I just sold my set from my crew cab duallie to a guy in Colorado, here is a pic before I took them off.
