I am thinking about putting a 4" turbo back MBRP exhaust on my 2007 F-350 PSD (MBRP part number S6206AL to be exact). I will also be purchasing a catalytic converter test pipe and a dual walled, angle cut, 5" tip. I was just curious if this will work on my truck without any other modifications (yet) to the intake, computer, etc? Is taking the cat in and out really as easy as it seems (as in unbolt a couple of flanges and it comes right out)? What exactly on the laws in TX concerning the cat since I have heard different stories. How does it sound for those of you who have one of these systems? Bottom line is I just want to make sure I am not overlooking something. Truck is completely stock so far, and my first mod will be exhaust so I just want to make sure it will work on it's own for now. Also the laws as far as inspections in TX concerning the cat? Thanks in advance!
You can run that exhuast. The test pipe will bolt in and out in abot 3mins probably. Texas seems pretty lax compared to california regarding emission laws and I run straight pipe for years and don't plan on changing soon. You could cut from right before the cat back off the exhaust and everything would be fine, and it would sound mean. good luck.
You can get the MBRP turbo back system that says "off road" on it that has the CAT delete pipe. Thats what I got. I love it. Mine installed easy. There are no sensors on your exhaust so there will be no codes thrown. You will like the results.
I live in San Antonio and I have a 5" MBRP Turbo Back. I've done some research on TX laws and I believe it's a $350 fine for running w/o a cat. However, I've been pulled over with my truck (only once for not displaying front license plate) and was never questioned about the exhaust. You'll hear a considerable turbo whine if you have an older 6.0 with the turbo with the fewer vanes. Not sure about the newer ones. I've heard that they don't have as much turbo whine. I have picked up 2 mpg by deleting the cat, according to my calculations. By my guestimations, I've saved enough money during the fuel crisis late last year that would more than cover the cost of the "no cat" fine. This is merely my opinion regarding the cat delete, be vigilant in your mods and enjoy your truck!

Thanks for the tips. I wasn't sure about the laws, but for some reason I was thinking it was a much heftier fine for no cat. Maybe I will like the sound with the cat in, but who knows.
I just wanted to make sure the exhaust would bolt right up and I could go without having any issues with the truck. Glad to hear the cat comes out as easy as I have heard. Thanks!

If you go cat back it should be pretty easy. If you decide to go turbo back with a cat delete, have a sawzall with a sharp blade for the turbo down pipe. It's a b!tch.

I am planning on going turbo back with the cat delete pipe...so where is it a pain? At the turbo?

BINGO!! Taking off the downpipe totally sucked. You need lots of patience getting it out. Then when you go to put the new one in, you need a little more patience...but not as much!

Thanks for the heads-up. I am having a friend with small hands come over to help me because I figured getting it off the turbo would require a few cuss words and a couple cold ones.
Also, the stock down pipe has a little hook type hanger that goes over the turbo outlet flange. Once you've cut the down pipe where it bends to go back to the catalytic converter, slid the V-band clamp off the the turbo outlet, and loosened the down pipe from the turbo outlet, push up on the down pipe so that the little hanger clears the turbo outlet flange and then separate the down pipe from the flange. Just take your time and it will go well.
