I have a 65 F100 that has rust holes about 8-10 inches long and maybe ¼ inch in width at the fwd edge of the bed, just behind the cab. I was wondering what would be the best way to repair this and would a spray in bed liner be wise? Other than that the bed is in pretty good shape. I just want to use it not show it. Would the metal bonding work or should I have it welded? I also seen some bed liner sheets in JC Whitney…are they junk or would that be a suitable repair. Lots of ????:-
Are the holes in the verticle part or the floor itself ?

<<<Yes, it's on bed itself.........>>>

Just to make sure I understand.....is the rust IN the floor OR is it in the vertical panel at the front of the bed, and NOT in the floor?
It's at the floor where it meets the vertical front side of the bed. I guess you could call it the angle. If I just wanted to "farmerize" it I could just take angle tin and rivet it on, but I would like a more professional look. Does that help any?
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 19-Apr-02 AT 00:49 AM (EST)]Brian, you really need to get that rust out of there or it will only get worse. Dirt and crud collect between the floor and the top of the support channel and then it stays wet. I don't know if those 'repair panels' match closely enough to use to patch it or not. The front panel is popcorn to repair compared to the floor. I made a repair panel for mine that worked out pretty good. If you want take a look in the gallery. I included a link. Look in Garage Queen. Good luck,

Phil! Thanks.....looked at your pics.....you are GOOD! Anyway, thanks for your help, though I don't think I'll be able to accomplish what did, just wanted to patch. But you're right need to fix it now before it gets bigger than me. Thanks again
