I ordered a 2.5" leveling kit from autospring. It should be here tonight or tomorrow I hope. I read a really good write-up on F150online and as a result I'm heading to the store right now for a 30mm socket and pitman arm puller incase i decide to use them. I have air tools so hopefully the install will go well. Here are some before pics:
Okay figured out the problem: the 08s used an aluminum lower control arm while the 09s use steel. The steel one has extra support around the lower strut bolt holes preventing the strut/spacer from sliding right back in.
A picture says a thousand words:
I guess I'll try using a spring compressor?
Well i got it done. Had to use a spring compressor and then still pry the strut back into place. Was quite a pain. The rest of the install was easy though. Here is a crappy after pic:
May I make a suggestion? Maybe toss a 1" block on there (the pic really isn't clear enough for me to make an assumption of it's nose high at all).

thanks. i'm gonna hold off on the tires. 35s or so eventually. the truck only has 700 miles on it. i'm thinking about going an inch higher in the rear although its hard to tell at this point. i'll get better pics when the weather improves.
Yeah its going in first thing tomorrow for an alignment. The spacer mounts on top of the strut assembly. I am not planning on a bumper unless something catches my eye. And i cant tell if its level or not because the driveway is sloping and i'm not going outside because its snowing. Time will tell.
