does anyone know if my rims that i bought for my 97 f150 will go onto my 2001 f150
the rims for the 97 are 15x8
the oem rims for the 01 are 16x7
other than the 15x8 being smaller will they go right on or is the bolt pattern different. i know i could just try them but i hate to take the tires off just to put them back on. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I'm going to say no, those 15x8's wont fit. I don't remember Ford offering a 15" wheel on the heritage body style trucks. And if I remember correctly, Ford was still building the previous body style trucks during the 97 model year, so you could have 2 different 97 F150s.
That said, those 15x8's likely are a 5 by 5.5 lug pattern. The heritage body style trucks have a 5 by 135 mm pattern. Not interchangeable. And Brian42 is sort of right. Ford did make a change to the lugs in 99, not the bolt pattern. They changed from a 12mm to 14mm lug. Which means, you wont want to try to fit a 97 - 98 F150 rim on your 01.
